We all dream of super-white teeth, don’t we? The truth is, though, our genes often seem to have different dreams… Plus, we don’t focus on our desire to look great and get the Hollywood smile all the time. Effect? Yellowish, far-from-white teeth that don’t look like they were taken from the beauty magazine.
Thankfully, there’s a remedy for every problem. I used to scare people with the yellowish teeth. I could have sandblasting and whitening done at the dentist’s office but I’m more into natural remedies since they are budget-friendly, safer and give the same effects (provided we use them on a regular basis!). Let me share the treatments that give me the best results.
How to get the snow-white teeth?
You often ask me why my teeth are so damn white! You mention some whitening toothpastes, treatments, gels… To be honest I believe that daily care and – the key thing – avoiding things that make the teeth yellowish play the biggest role. In the past I also had no idea that I had to turn my life upside down a bit to get the snow-white teeth so don’t worry. Today I’m aware of the things that matter and so will you.
The factors that affect the color of the teeth aren’t connected only with daily care. Teeth may lose the white shade because of:
- smoking habit.
- drinking too much tea, coffee, wine.
- taking some antibiotics.
- some diseases.
- aging process and genes.
Home treatments that made my teeth whiter
The first thing I advise you to think of is avoiding the things that stain your teeth (the list above). Instead of three cups of coffee, have one. Mineral water is a better hydrator, plus it doesn’t change the tooth color. Giving up smoking has great health benefits too.
Once you change your habits, try my teeth-whitening treatments. Best of the best!
Black toothpaste
First things first: oral hygiene. Remember to care for your teeth and brush them every single day, ideally using a miracle-working agent known as activated carbon toothpaste. I’ve got a herbal-enriched paste but any paste works if it holds charcoal. This ingredient is black and, contrary to appearances, it perfectly whitens the teeth. It has a detoxifying and cleansing effect, and enables you to get the snow-white teeth back without much effort. After all, you brush the teeth every day, don’t you?
Banana peel
You may think I’m crazy but I really do that: I regularly rub the teeth with a banana peel. Before throwing it out, I make use of it and naturally whiten my teeth. Believe it or not, just several seconds are enough to get the effects. Note: you need to use the inside part of the peel since it’s high in substances that restore the white color and healthy shine of the teeth.
Lemon mouthwash
A sour lemon is a little thing that every girl crazy about enhancing the looks should have at home. You can use it as a smoothing hair rinse, natural face toner or a tooth whitener. How do I make use of it? I use the easiest way in the world. I could chew the lemon but it’s easier to squeeze the juice, mix it with water and rinse the mouth. I use it after toothbrushing – this way I get rid of all residue and dirt but also make the teeth brighter with every use.
Obviously, a healthy diet is the best way to whiten the teeth. Vitamins and minerals are essential to keep teeth healthy but there’s another benefit: while eating vegetables and fruits, apples in particular, salivary glands are stimulated, working like a gentle exfoliator, which surely improves the color of teeth.
