I’ve been a fan of the brand’s products for years, as they always focus on quality, and their new DIY Lash Extensions are a true revolution in at-home eyelash extensions.
The cluster lashes are beautifully packed, which I always appreciate, plus they’re well protected, so you can be sure they’ll arrive in perfect condition. The set includes 36 cluster lashes, which are extremely soft, flexible, and imitate natural lashes perfectly.
Nanolash provides three lengths of the cluster lashes: 10, 12, and 14 mm, which gives us full freedom in creating different styles. For example, if I want to achieve a cat eye effect, I reach for shorter lash clusters in the corners and longer ones in the center. On the other hand, for a more dramatic Russian Volume effect, the longest cluster lashes are ideal. For everyday wear, when I want a subtle thicker lash effect, I choose the shortest ones available.
Applying these lashes is a real pleasure. The process is so simple that it takes no more than 10 minutes, even without much experience. All you have to do is apply the bonder to the lashes, wait a short while for it to gain tackiness, and then apply the cluster lashes about 1 mm from the lash line and press them down. The second place in my ranking goes to the Invisi-Lash Kit from the TATTI brand. The manufacturer promises that it takes just 10 minutes to apply these cluster lashes, which sounds great, but from my perspective, it’s not as easy as with the DIY Lash Extensions. As for the lashes themselves, there are four sizes in the box: 8, 10, 12, and 14 mm. They are soft and lightweight, which is certainly a plus, but their durability raises my concerns. Unlike the cluster lashes from Nanolash, they are unlikely to be reusable. I’ve had incidents where the lash clusters have deformed or lost some fibers, which is quite frustrating.
In conclusion, the Invisi-Lash Kit from TATTI has its advantages, such as the variety of sizes and the lightness of the lashes, but unfortunately, the disadvantages, such as the more difficult application, durability issues, and the transparent strip, make it not my favorite. If you’re looking for cluster lashes that provide reliability and long-lasting results, you may want to consider other options.
3. Ardell X-tended Wear Lash System Kit
Next in my ranking is the Ardell X-tended Wear Lash System Kit. The first surprise? The manufacturer does not state the exact time it takes to apply these cluster lashes. In comparison, Nanolash clearly declares that the whole process takes just 10 minutes, which gives me an idea of how much time I need to spend on styling my lashes. With Ardell, it all depends on my manual skills and proficiency, which can be both an advantage and a disadvantage.
One of the pluses of this kit is the availability of the lash clusters in different sizes, which allows you to adjust them to your eye shape. However, on the other hand, I noticed that the thickness of the individual fibers and their identical design in each cluster, regardless of the length, make these false eyelashes too easily noticeable.
As for the durability of the application, the manufacturer promises that the cluster lashes can last for up to several days. However, you have to be very careful, because even the slightest contact with water can shorten their durability significantly. That’s quite a limitation to keep in mind, especially if you’re planning more intense activities that may expose your lashes to moisture.
4. Velour Xtensions Kit
Velour Xtensions Kit takes the next place in my ranking of lashes for self-application. Like the other kits, it aims to allow you to create any lash style you want in a relatively short period of time. The manufacturer promises that the application will take no more than 10 minutes, which sounds tempting.
I noticed that applying the Velour cluster lashes is a bit more difficult than Nanolash clumps. Before applying the lashes, it is necessary to prepare the natural onwes carefully, preferably with an eyelash curler, so that the false lashes blend in well. The kit comes with wisps in three sizes, which gives some flexibility in styling them. Unfortunately, only one type of curl is available, which limits the possibilities for customizing your lash look. For me, as someone who likes to experiment with different styles, this is a limitation.
As for the durability, the manufacturer does not provide exact information on how many days the lashes can last. This can be problematic, as it is difficult to predict how long the effect will last for each person. My experience shows that the lashes may last 2 days for some, and 4 days for others, as it depends on the condition of the natural lashes and individual predispositions.
5. KISS Falscara Starter Kit
The last kit is the KISS Falscara Starter Kit, which provides cluster lashes in various sizes, complete with the basic accessories necessary for applying them. At first glance it seems that we get everything we need, but in practice, the kit is not complete. It lacks an Overnighter, which allows you to wear the lashes for several days, and a remover for removing them conveniently – these products have to be purchased separately.
The manufacturer assures that the application will take only 10 minutes. Unfortunately, during my test, I noticed that the bonder applicator is designed in not the best way, which makes distributing the adhesive not as easy as I would like.
The lashes in this kit can be applied from the underside as well as from the top, which gives some flexibility in styling them. However, in order for the lashes to last for 4-5 days, it is necessary to buy the Overnighter. And here comes the biggest problem – this additional product, although it extends the life of the application, has a negative effect on the cluster lashes themselves. After removing the lashes, it often turns out that they are not suitable for being reused, even after thorough cleaning.
