How to remove nail polish when you’re out of remover?

Try to remember a number of times when your nail polish chipped. Immediately after having your mani done… It didn’t look nice, did it? Your hands probably didn’t look well-groomed either. If you happen to experience the same fail in the future, you should know how to remedy the situation. Check how to remove nail polish when you run out of a polish remover.

Spirit or extraction naphtha

They sound serious but they will help you remove your nail polish. Too bad, not all of us have extraction naphtha or spirit at home but if you happen to have them, go ahead! Pour a bit of the product on a cotton pad and gently rub the nail. Be careful, though. Both ingredients are flammable as well as may cause skin irritation.

Alcohol-based perfume or deodorant

You surely have them at home. Spray the perfume on a cotton pad and rub the nail plate. If you choose a deodorant, spray it on the nails and leave it for a while. Wipe the nail polish off and repeat if necessary.

Vinegar

If you’re not a fan of the odor of vinegar, this trick isn’t the best pick. However if you don’t mind the smell, give it a go. Soak a cotton pad in vinegar and rub the pad over the nail plate. Wash your hands afterwards.

Hydrogen peroxide

I’m sure there’s hydrogen peroxide in your bathroom cabinet. Steep a cotton pad in it and put more pressure when rubbing the nails. There’s a slim chance that your nail polish comes off at a first go so you need more time and a bit of patience. Keep removing the polish the whole way.

Acetone for nail polish

If you wear fake nails, you must have acetone at home. It isn’t as intense as removers but it can help you get rid of the surficial layers of nail polish. Pour a bit of acetone on a pad and wipe the nails a few times. In this case, patience is welcome as well.

Another coat of nail polish

This trick is nice. Simply apply another coating of the polish you have on your nails and remove all coats after a few seconds. They should come off easily.

Peeling off nail polish

It is the last resort. Peeling off the polish has a destructive effect on nails. Doing so, you expose the nail plate to damage, plus you’re likely to worsen the condition of nail cuticles. Still, some girls do it and they peel off using other nail or a hard object, or bite the nails… Removing the polish with a nail file isn’t a good idea either.
