Hey girls!
Perhaps you don’t even realize that daily hair care is something more than just washing and combing. The core of the good hair care routine focuses on repair, nourishment and strengthening. Are you dreaming of beautiful and lustrous hair? Then you have to give your strands everything they need.
I’m constantly receiving messages from you, where you ask me about my ways of getting well-conditioned hair. The answer is simple – I’ve found a mask that answers all my hair’s needs.
What is a hair mask and how does it differ from a regular hair conditioner?
Hair mask is a brilliant miracle worker. I won’t exaggerate saying that this is a cosmetic that produces the most dramatic effects in terms of hair repair. It improves the hair both from the inside and outside. Hair mask has a thick consistency and is rich in various active substances. It needs to sit on the hair longer than a hair conditioner. The main task of a hair mask is to transport nutrients to the inner structures of the hair. In short, a hair mask ensures a deep repair treatment, which can’t be said about hair conditioners. Hair conditioner affects hair only on its surface without improving the “inside” of a hair shaft. Obviously, it smoothes the hair out and adds some moisture, but this effect is just temporary. It doesn’t mean though that the application of hair conditioner is pointless. You shouldn’t skip this hair care product in your daily hair care routine because it helps you prevent damage after shampooing by closing the hair cuticles. This in turn results in smoother and more glossy hair which later facilitates trouble free combing and styling. Some hair conditioners are even able to protect the hair from mechanical damage and aggressive environmental factors. Finally, the hair conditioner needs less time to fulfill its task – in most cases this is no more than 2-3 minutes.
Types of hair masks
I strongly believe that a do-it-all hair mask suiting all hair types and satisfying all hair needs doesn’t exist. You have to match this product both to the type and the current state of your hair. It can’t be denied, your hair needs something different than your friend’s. For that reason, there are other needs to be satisfied for bleached, color-treated, blonde, thick, curly hair… and on, and so forth. What hair masks can we find in drugstores?
Hair masks for damaged hair
The hair which is the most miserable is high porosity hair. In most cases, such hair is dry and dull with split ends. Hair masks designed for this hair type should contain keratin, vitamins, humectants and emollients in order to provide these weak strands with, for example, moisture. Put simply, such hair masks must contain proteins – such as the already-mentioned keratin. In fact, the best effects are created by hydrolyzed keratin, which can be found in Nanoil Keratin Hair Mask. This is my top hair mask that saved my frazzled hair.
Hair for color-treated hair
Obviously, you can use it even if your hair is neither bleached or color-treated. Such products work fine even for the women whose hair hasn’t been dyed. So who is designed to use masks for color-treated hair? Obviously, apart from those who dyed their hair, such products can be used by everyone who wishes to intensify the natural color of their strands. Apart from the conditioning ingredients, such hair masks should also contain vegetable extracts that are responsible for making the color more vivid. The very extracts are: castor oil, chamomile, cinnamon, walnut extract. When it comes to the color-treated hair, it should be regularly treated with keratin and argan oil. Finally, a color-treated hair mask contains ingredients that create a special coating on the hair to prevent the pigment from fading.
Hair mask for curly hair
If your hair is everything but not straight, go for hair masks that are able to define the curl and help you tame the mane. In the case of curly and wavy hair, it’s often prone to frizz and easy to weigh down. Therefore, the hair mask you choose should be lightweight.
I truly hope I managed to help you understand the difference between hair masks and hair conditioners. I suggest using a hair mask on a weekly basis. Once you start treating the hair with such deep repair treatment, you will enjoy voluminous mane pretty fast.
