Taking care of easily-irritated skin isn’t an easy task. You must be very careful with the beauty products that you want to put on the face. Choosing the right treatments that don’t cause irritation is another thorny problem that has to be dealt with.
I know that having couperose skin happens to be a real pain in the neck. Being aware of that, I decided to share with you everything I know about the products and treatments dedicated for this demanding skin type. Actually, I’m gonna review 3 anti-redness/soothing face serums that, at least in my humble opinion, deliver the best results, causing zero irritation. But before that, a short guide to couperose skin.
My tips on caring for couperose skin
This is basically how taking care of couperose skin should look like:
- WASH YOUR FACE WITH A GENTLE CLEANSER Make sure that the product you use has no alcohol, no colorants, no SLS-es or other irritation-triggering ingredients.
- WIPE YOUR FACE WITH A TONIC Indeed, using a facial tonic is really important no matter the skin type we’re dealing with. This product balances skin’s pH and helps the face serum penetrate quicker and deeper.
- APPLY A FACE SERUM This skincare product is essential for healthy skin. Once applied, massage the serum into your skin gently.
- PUT ON A FACE CREAM To trap the serum inside the skin, follow it with a face cream. At bedtime use either moisturizing or nourishing products, whereas in the morning use a cream with SPF.
I go through these four steps every morning and evening. If you want to use a facial scrub, make sure that you choose an enzymatic peel, not mechanic. The latter is too invasive for irritation-prone couperose skin, so please keep this in mind.
Let’s now move on to the critical part of this post – face serum for easily-irritated and redness-prone skin. I’m gonna present to you three products that I know, use and truly love. All of them significantly improved my skin.
3 BEST FACE SERUMS FOR COUPEROSE SKIN
No 1 NANOIL Anti-Redness Face Serum

I’ve been using this serum just for a couple of months – maybe 3 or 4. I wish I had discovered it sooner, but as they say, better late than never, right? Actually, this serum is the only serum that I use now. Why is that? First, I like Anti-Redness Face Serum’s formula that is short and has zero alcohol, parabens or unwanted preservatives. Instead, it has chestnut bark extract – the one that seals the blood vessels. This is why Nanoil serum is able to erase spider veins and redness from the face. Another ingredient that caught my attention is cypress cone extract. This one in turn is responsible for making skin resistant to irritants. And I can feel this effect because ever since I’ve been using Nanoil Anti-Redness Face Serum, my skin seems to be indifferent to sudden temperature changes and other aggressors that used to make it reddened and prickle. Indian punarnava extract is another great component that is responsible for defying aging and dullness. I like using this serum when I come back home after a long day of work because it gives me a very pleasant feeling of relief. I also use it in the morning because Nanoil Anti-Redness Face Serum doesn’t mess up with my makeup products. One bottle stores 1.69 fl oz, so that’s why I can apply this soothing serum a few times a day without worrying that I’ll run out of it too quickly. I bought this serum from the official Nanoil store: nanoil.co.uk

No 2 MEDIK8 Calmwise Serum, Soothing Elixir for Redness-Prone Skin

Before Nanoil serum became my top-choice for couperose skin, I’d been using Medik8 for quite some time. I still use it from time to time, but mainly when I’m away from home. It’s small size (0.5 fl oz) makes it a perfect travel product because it doesn’t occupy much space in my cosmetic bag. I remember using it daily – back then, Soothing Elixir for Redness-Prone Skin was my regular monthly expense. I rarely apply the serum all over my face – I rather apply it topically, putting it only on the parts of the skin that clearly need it. Soothing Elixir for Redness-Prone Skin from Medik8 doesn’t need much time to penetrate my skin and goes well with all face creams I apply shortly after. I find the serum amazing when it comes to dealing with spider veins and erythema. The formula has an organic sage extract that prevents inflammation and breakouts. I’ve read somewhere that this product is also recommended to those who suffer from rosacea. Of course, this soothing face serum has no alcohol, no artificial colorants and no parabens. It leaves my skin smooth and relaxed.
No 3 COSRX Pure Fit Cica Serum

As you may know, I’m a big fan of Korean cosmetics. That’s why I didn’t think much when I saw Pure Fit Cica Serum – I just added it to my cart. Designed mainly for sensitive skin, it also suits couperose skin. In this white bottle, we have Asian pennywort extract that targets weak blood vessels to seal them. Naturally, as a result, the appearance of spider veins is minimized. The same extract deals with inflammation and stimulates self-renewal processes in skin. Panthenol and allantoin are responsible for the soothing and moisturizing effect. Although I do like this serum, I placed it in the third place due to its weird texture. I don’t have any problems with spreading the serum over my face and neck, but no matter how long I try to massage it into my skin, it always leaves me with a kind of gooey feel. And that’s exactly why I use it before going to bed. Still, this small flaw doesn’t make this product less effective. That’s why I’d recommend Cosrx Pure Fit Cica Serum for those of you who use other face serum in the morning. It comes in a 1 fl oz bottle and has a fair price.
That’s pretty much all what I wanted to tell you. I’m sure that you won’t regret choosing one of the soothing face serums for easily-irritated skin I’ve just reviewed for you. In case you have any questions, let me know in the comments section. I’ll do my best to clear up all your doubts.
